Creating Online Platform for Survey for Research in Physical Education

Keywords: Information,Communication,Technology and Educational Quality,Google

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have been touted as potentially powerful enabling tools for educational change and reform. When used appropriately, different ICTs are said to help expand access to education, strengthen the relevance of education to the increasingly digital workplace, and raise educational quality by, among others, helping make teaching and learning into an engaging, active process connected to real life. However, the experience of introducing different ICTs in the classroom and other educational settings all over the world over the past several decades suggests that the full realization of the potential educational benefits of ICTs is not automatic. The effective integration of ICTs into the educational system is a complex, multifaceted process that involves not just technology—indeed, given enough initial capital, getting the technology is the easiest part!—but also curriculum and pedagogy, institutional readiness, teacher competencies, and long-term financing, among others. There’s so many ways to create online forms, it can be overwhelming to pick the perfect one for your needs. Arguably the most powerful is one you already have access to for free—it\'s part of Google Drive. Hence the author attempted to explain the procedure of creating online form for the research in this article.

Multiple group design with five independent groups (G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5) was formed for the present study and each age group had 100 boys within it. Mean value and standard deviation were computed for each parameter as descriptive statistics. To find out the inter group difference in power and flexibility, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used in this study. Significance level set for the study was only 0.05 level of confidence. Results revealed that power and flexibility increased linearly across all of the age groups from 10 to 14 years. Analyzing the Credit Based System in Physical Education

Keywords: Skills,Performance,Specialization,ground Practical

Professional course like Physical Education has become a real challenge to actually prepare for the adoption of choice based credit system (CBCS) and to present clear choices in and off the ground. One of the benefits of the CBCS is, teachers have a great deal of freedom to design their courses and students get total freedom to choose courses for their degree program. But when thinking with the mind of improving the field of physical education through the adoption of choice based credit system, some problems crops up and these problems must be critically analyzed. Changing the performance score into credits, Making of skilled calculation sheets, wide range of specialty, less faculty/infrastructure and ranging the credit system are some of the existing obstacles that must be overcome. There are lots of merits of this approach, but there is equally worry of the unpreparedness of the colleges/students to take full advantage of this opportunity. Evolution of Sports: Female Tradition

Keywords: Olympic movement,emancipation,Swedish gymnastic

For a long time women played no more than a marginal role in the Olympic movement. Even in 1992 women represented less than 30% of the competitors at the Summer Olympic Games. On their way to Olympia women were faced with a great number of obstacles. The opposition which they met was directed at not only women’s participation in sport but also the maszculinization that this was alleged to produce as well as the ‘emancipation’ of women and the perceived threat of change in the gender order itself. In an age when the ideals, duties and roles of the two sexes in everyday life were being radically transformed by processes of modernization, it was hoped that sport and the Olympic Games might contribute towards upholding the myth of the male as the ‘stronger sex’. In the 19th century, women, like the ovens they cooked on, belonged in the home and not on the sports ground. This was true of both Europe and the USA. It lay ‘in the nature of things’ that girls should be excluded from the first initiatives and concepts of physical education which, like German Turnen or Swedish gymnastics, began to appear in the early 19th century. Girls and Women, for example, were not allowed on the first German Turnen grounds opened in 1811 in a Berlin park known as Hasenheide; they could only admire the feats of the Turner from the perimeter. Modern sport of English origin was, in its early phase, also an exclusively male domain. Although physical exertion and competition were held to be contrary to a woman’s nature, by the end of the 19th century a few women did take part in bicycle racing, swimming contests and even in parachuting or ski jumping, much to the horror of the public.

Physical Education Teacher (High School), Govt. VHSS Malayinkeezhu, TVM, Kerala,India

Keywords: Self-financing colleges,Exploitation,Regulation

It was in 1990s that the government started to invite and encourage privatisation of higher education in the State of Kerala, India. As a result self-financing colleges (SFCs) flourished in the state initially in professional and later in all sectors. Along with increasing the opportunities in higher education, these colleges became an easy option of temporary jobs for the educated youth in Kerala. But the colleges became, on the other side, avenues of exploitation to a large extend, not only to students but also to its teaching and non-teaching staff. It was revealed in the survey that most of the teaching and non-teaching staff appointed in these colleges is women. Women labourers, particularly, have a tendency to continue in the job as far as possible due to family, distance and societal compulsions. These labourers are neither organized nor members of any trade unions. When privatisation opened new avenues of development within higher education sector, the same led to massive exploitation of students, teaching and non- teaching staff mainly because the rules and regulations are not implemented effectively. The lack of knowledge regarding labour rights from the side of exploited, their adjusting mentality, the financial plus political support for the managements and absence of competing public sector made things much worse. The paper is a qualitative study into the role, relevance, growth, economy and working conditions of SFCs in the state

Effective Teaching and Learning of Physical Education through ICT

Keywords: Information,Communication,Technology,Educational Quality

Information and communication technologies (ICTs)—which include radio and television, as well as newer digital technologies such as computers and the Internet—have been touted as potentially powerful enabling tools for educational change and reform.
